In addition to modeling operational open science for the global community of practice, we are also obligated to comply with US laws and sponsor-specific rules and requirements.
Before beginning the proposal development process with IGDORE USA, please consider the following terms and conditions of our Open Science Research Administration Service:
1. We may require the addition of a dedicated project manager (PM) to the team to ensure fiscal and legal compliance with the sponsor's contract, as well as the successful delivery of outputs on time and within budget.
We will add these labor expenses and F&A to the budget prior to submission, so please be advised that the budget will change during this process.
In general, the PI will lead the technical effort and the PM will lead the administration of the contract and grant.
We reserve the right to assign an appropriate PM in the event that the PI does not already have a qualified administrative lead named to the project.
2. If a project receives an award, a modified version of the proposal will be posted to our web archive and made publicly available as our commitment to OS principles of transparency, sharing, and access.
Details that compromise personally identifiable information, income, and expertise rights will be removed prior to posting to ensure that intellectual property and privacy are protected during the period of performance and through publication.
Modified proposals and budgets will be posted immediately upon award notice. Proposals that are rejected will also be posted in summary detail (e.g., concept note and budget summary).
Presumably, project details will eventually be published as a contractual obligation, at which point the need for protections (i.e., modifications and redactions) will no longer apply. Budget details will remain in summary form (i.e., Labor, Travel, Equipment, F&A, etc. overall costs will not be broken into specific line items).
3. Prior to starting work, project details will be registered on the platforms of your choice or the default platforms that IGDORE USA uses (OSF, DMP, Zenodo, CoSci Artifacts Registry).
4. Monthly project reports will be posted to the IGDORE USA open access archive and will include milestones, technical achievements, and aggregate budget details (e.g. Labor, Travel, Equipment expenditures, etc.).
Finally, we do not charge you directly for project management or grant hosting. We recover those costs within the budget through direct line items and/or F&A fees. This means that your original budget estimate may be modified significantly to accommodate these costs.
